Upvoted: I made this: Simple archiving to S3 for log files [Windows]

Just a little something I made to solve a specific problem I had whereby my small cloud servers were filling up with logs but I can't just delete them as we need to keep them for regulatory reasons. Also when launching and destroying cloud servers regularly, it helps to have automatic off-loading of logs.

It's very simple, specific use application but thought it might be useful to other windows sysadmins here. Source code is linked in post as well.

TL;DR Feature list:

  • XML Config
  • Uploads listed folders to S3
  • Optional recursive searching
  • Optionally then deletes files after upload
  • Optionally ignore open files (i.e. currently writing log files)
  • Choose bucket, folder in bucket and search pattern
